MorningGuard needs Screen Time permission to block apps. Open the app, tap the Guard tab, and tap "Enable Screen Time access." You'll be prompted to allow it. If you've already done this and blocking still isn't working, go to Settings › Screen Time and make sure Screen Time is turned on for your own device.

Open MorningGuard. The app checks whether your guard window has ended and clears restrictions when you return to it. If apps are still blocked after opening the app, force-quit and reopen it. This can happen when the device reboots mid-session, and we're working on a fix.

Go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and make sure MorningGuard is enabled. Also check Settings › Privacy & Security › Speech Recognition. Both need to be allowed for voice dictation to work. If you've granted both and it still fails, try force-quitting the app and trying again.

The light meter uses your front or rear camera. Make sure Camera access is enabled in Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera › MorningGuard. Also make sure you're holding the phone so the camera faces the sky or a bright window. It won't measure well if the camera is facing a wall or your hand.

First, make sure notifications are enabled: Settings › Notifications › MorningGuard. Then open MorningGuard, go to Settings › Affirmations, and toggle "Daily affirmation" off and back on to reschedule them. Notifications are scheduled 14 days in advance, so toggling regenerates the upcoming batch.

MorningGuard is currently iPhone only. iPad support may come in a future update. An Android version is not planned at this time, since the Screen Time API is only available on Apple platforms.

MorningGuard requires iOS 17.6 or later. The Screen Time API features we use were introduced in iOS 16, but we require 17.6 for stability and to take advantage of the latest platform improvements.

MorningGuard uses Screen Time in individual mode, meaning it only manages your own device, and only with your explicit consent. It is not a parental control tool. If your device is managed by a parent's Screen Time restrictions, MorningGuard may not be able to request Screen Time access.
